Andy Mead

Andy is Head of Product at climate tech leader Instagrid, which is at the forefront of mobile battery technology. In this role, he oversees Instagrid’s development of a large-scale mobile battery series that builds on the success of their flagship product, a hand-portable power battery supply. Andy is focused on driving innovation to position Instagrid’s products as the top choice for temporary power solutions. Before Instagrid, Andy launched Tangent Energy in 2017, which develops advanced mobile batteries for use in microgrids that have become the go-to choice in the European and North American rental markets. His entry into the battery sector began when he founded Firefly in 2007. There, he pioneered the introduction of mobile battery technology to the UK and played his part in the significant shift that occurred as rental companies and end users adopted these sustainable options for the first time.
