A Greener Future Honoured to Support Massive Attack’s Act 1.5 Climate Action Accelerator on Bristol's Clifton Downs This 25th August

AGF are honoured to be supporting Massive Attack’s Act 1.5 Climate Action Accelerator, which will take place on the Clifton Downs in the band’s hometown of Bristol on 25th August.

Promising to be the lowest carbon show of its size ever staged, the all-day event will trial a host of new standards for the decarbonisation of live music, marking the culmination of 25 years of climate activism on the part of the band and a first physical fruition of their collaboration with climate scientists and analysts, including the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change, which saw the production of the Super-Low Carbon Live Music Report, and the formation of Act 1.5.

With a dedicated team of renowned experts and event partners across production, transport provision, energy provision, traders, sustainability experts, artist management, and communications, AGF have been supporting the team behind the Massive Attack Act 1.5 Climate Action Accelerator with a range of industry-leading actions for the most sustainable event delivery.

Initiatives include 100% plant-based food providers from a localised supply chain; composting all food and non-reusable serveware with EnVar; 100% zero to landfill waste provision; compost toilets; female urinals and harnessing phosphates with PEEQUAL; extra chartered trains operating one hour after the Network Rail schedule is closed, organised with Great Western Railways, plus free audience shuttle buses; a rail incentivisation scheme offering ticket-holders exclusive VIP bar and toilet access; 48-hour exclusive ticket sale prioritising local postcodes; new energy solutions provided by Ecotricity x Grid Faeries, Power Logistics, Instagrid, and Zenobe; electric vehicles, including all Massive Attack’s ground transport and Volta Trucks for equipment; HVO trucking with KB Event; no single-use plastics onsite; creation of a new permanent climate-resilient woodland of over 19,000 native oak trees in collaboration with Train Hugger and the Royal Forestry Society; a green volunteer team with My Cause; and a ground-breaking process change behind the scenes to reduce the event’s impact.
