The Bear in the Square

This December 11th animal sculptor, Mark Coreth, will carve a life-sized ice sculpture of a hunting polar bear in Trafalgar Square, just outside the National Gallery. Over ten days it will melt, leaving a bronze skeleton, a pool of water and a powerful environmental message. Anyone who comes to Trafalgar Square will be able to reach out and touch the Ice Bear. Everyone who does will become sculptors as they shape it - symbolic of how we all have the power to affect our delicate environment.http://www.icebearproject.org/
