KATRIN WIPPER

Katrin has been the co-founder and CEO of the German sustainability agency The Changency since 2021. She has led sustainability projects in the live music and events industry, focusing on the environmental impact of major events and sustainable fan travel, and consults with the German national promoters’ association (BDKV).
Together with Sarah Lüngen, Katrin founded The Changency in 2021 after meeting at Music Declares Emergency Germany. They launched the first German sustainability study on major events with the band SEEED and Berlin’s University of Technology, covering five shows at Berlin’s Wuhlheide venue (85K fans).
In 2022, they led sustainability and circularity efforts for “Lab Tempelhof,” featuring shows by Die Ärzte and Die Toten Hosen at Tempelhof Airport (180K fans). The Changency has also collaborated with Höme, Puls Open Air, Gastrobüro, and band AnnenMayKantereit around sustainable fan travel (215K fans).
The Changency was recognized by the German government in 2022 for their innovative business model, and won several awards for their climate communication and sustainable projects.
Before founding The Changency, Katrin worked for over 10 years as a booking agent and tour manager for international acts.
