EUROSONIC NOORDERSLAG 12 - 15 January 2011 The European Music Conference and Showcase Festival

    Eurosonic Noorderslag have announced the first confirmed artists for Eurosonic, which will place on Thursday 13th and Friday 14th January in various venues in the centre of Groningen. One exclusive confirmation is Diversidad, a group of renowned European rappers, producers and sound engineers which features 20 different artists (including Dutch rappers MC Melodee from La Melodia and GMB who was also part of ‘Kyteman’s Hiphop Orkest’) from 12 different countries speaking 8 different languages who come together to create a masterpiece that is destined to be an integral part of Diversidad. The Diversidad album showcases that urban music is a mixture of musical styles and not a prefabricated box with rigid boundaries. Diversidad will also include a festival tour, a graphic art exhibition, a movie and a digital community. The liveshow will be a unique innovating and multidisciplinary show created with the artists from the album and other musicians, dancers, choreographers and DJ’s. Diversidad will start their European tour at Eurosonic Noorderslag. Next week a new website for Eurosonic Noorderslag 2011 will be launched, with lots of information on all confirmed acts, plus new names for Noorderslag and detials of Dutch Impact (focus on the Netherlands during Eurosonic).

Along with the alreadu announced keynotes by Bob Lefsetz and Fred Goodman, confirmed panels include "Off The Record With A Smile", "The Agent Panel", "Future of Festivals", "Eastern Europe Panel", "Trans Europe Express", "Health & Safety Panel", "Future of Labels", "Booking a Tour Liv"e on Stage, "Green Events Panel", "The Managers Panel" and a General Festival Meeting.

The European Festival Awards will be held on Wednesday 12th January 2011 at Groningen’s Stadsschouwburg. Thursday 13th January will be the official opening of the Eurosonic Noorderslag Conference, followed by the Dutch Impact – Focus on the Netherlands Party. www.eurosonic-noorderslag.nl
