Events panel highlight of Australias Sustainable Living Festival
The Sustainable Living Festival is the upcoming three-day celebration of innovation and creativity which will be staged at Federation Square in Melbourne, Australia in February. The Festival draws together diverse approaches that focus on social and ecological sustainability. Leading event service providers will showcase their best, with live displays of some of the latest and most innovative sustainable event services in Australia. The Festival will host the National Sustainable Events Key Forum & Expo which is a dedicated conference focusing on leading sustainable event practice. The programme will challenge how we look at event production and how sustainability is quickly becoming the main event. This special event is ideal for event organisers of every shape and size. Speakers will present the latest trends and what they mean for your future events and A Greener Festival’s Amie Green (pictured) will be the international guest speaker at the Beyond ‘Carbon Neutral’ Eventssession which will be between 2pm-4pm on February 20th 2009. This presentation will explore the notion of a carbon neutral event and why we need to move beyond just emissions offsetting in order to create sustainable event practice. The Forum’s panel will discuss the growing trend of significantly reducing the impacts of event production, by event organisers, around the world. Speakers will highlight some of the common challenges to improving practice, while sharing some inspiring local and international leading event examples.
