Evolve Green Sundays - Economics of Happiness

Evolve Green Sundays - Economics of Happiness 13 February 2011, 5pm – 7:20pm  www.greensundays.org.uk Green Sundays, the informal get-together blending environmental issues with the arts is back in 2011.  Join us on Sunday, 13th February for a special film screening and discussion exploring economic growth at Evolve in South Kensington. Presented in collaboration with the New Economics Foundation and CEECEC, the films on view explore the way our society is based on ‘growth’ – the notion that more money, more goods and more services are needed by us all to lead fulfilling lives. But the financial meltdown of 2008 and the subsequent recession has shaken belief in the power of the pound.  Coupled with climate change and globalisation many are starting to wonder if “indefinite growth is sustainable?”  Are we being led into an environmental and social catastrophe?  And is there anything we can do about it? Come along to see informative films, hear inspirational speakers and discover practical solutions. All welcome. Programme5:00pm           Short Film - Life After Growth, 2010 (25 mins) Directed, written, shot and edited by Leah Temper & Claudia Medina 5:35                Main Feature - Economics of Happiness, (67 mins)A film by Helena Norberg-Hodge, Steven Gorelick & John Page 6:45 – 7:20    Discussion with Hali Healy, CEECEC and Saamah Abdallah, New Economics FoundationTickets £8 / £5 (concessions).  To book contact Evolve on 0207 581 4090 or info@evolvewellnesscentre.com.  Tickets also available on the door.  The Evolve Wellness Centre, 10 Kendrick Mews, SW7 3HG is easily accessible by public transport.  Nearest tube station is South Kensington (District/Piccadilly and Circle lines) and a number of buses 70, 414, 360 and C1.www.theeconomicsofhappiness.org
