Demonstrating that the work done in our industry goes far beyond its own borders to make a difference, Love Support Unite Foundation will present their outstanding mission with temporary event power specialists Firefly Clean Energy, to provide solar power to schools in Malawi. There will be further delving into the festival community’s response to the refugee crisis, and the role of the entertainment industry in making a stand on intrinsically politically charged social issues.
Stretching the perspective of the conference further still, Jason Mayall of Fuji Rock Festival, Japan will be providing insight into what it takes for a festival in Japan to green itself and whether festival and event organisers in this region encounter the same issues and solutions as the rest of the world.The Hard to Swallow Necessities session will explore internal action and interaction between audience and organiser. Creative Carbon Scotland will provide insight into collaboration in practice across events in Edinburgh, and the benefits reaped for urban-based events by working together.
