Glastonbury sells out in record time

The first Glastonbury tickets for the 2014 festival  - 15,000 coach and ticket packages sold out within 30 minutes with the the official Glastonbury Twitter account tweeting: ‘The 15,000 coach + ticket packages have now sold out. The remaining 120,000 Glastonbury 2014 tickets go on sale on Sunday morning at 9am." And on Sunday morning it took just 1 hour and 27 minutes  minutes for the remaining tickets to be snapped up by eager fans - although techical difficulties disrupted the first 30 minutes. More than 1 million people had registered in advance of the sale, reducing fan's chance of access to the best party in the world to a one in seven chance and leaving hundreds and thousands of festival goers disappointed. Organisers Michael and Emily Eavis posted a note on the official website saying"After 1 hour and 27 minutes, tickets for Glastonbury 2014 have now sold out (in record time). Our sincere thanks to everyone who managed to buy a ticket today, or a coach + ticket package on Thursday.We have, once again, been blown away by the numbers of people who were hoping to join us at the Festival, and we're sorry that many of you have missed out on a ticket. We genuinely try to make the ticket system as fair as it can be, but when demand outstrips supply, it is an unfortunate inevitability that some people will be left disappointed.If you did get a ticket, then we look forward to seeing you down here at Worthy Farm next June. If not, then there will be a resale of any returned tickets in the spring, and your registration remains valid to purchase tickets for future Glastonbury Festivals.Thank you all again for your incredible support for Glastonbury Festival.
