Green the Laughs!

Leicester Comedy Festival invite you to a FREE seminar focusing on the work the festival is doing with partners to "green the laughs" and lower the carbon footprint of the festival - it is on Monday 8th February 3-5pm LCB Depot, Rutland Street, Leicester LE1 1RE. There is FREE ENTRY but ooking essential: info@comedy-festival.co.uk.  Comedy is a serious business. It requires thought, timing and delivery; much like the problem of climate change. It is hard to ignore the reality of climate change across the UK. Unlike comedy it’s really nothing to laugh about and Leicester Comedy Festival has formed a unique partnership which aims to promote responsible attitudes towards the environment and lower the carbon footprint of the annual event. Leicester Comedy Festival is working with partners to do two things; a) lower the carbon footprint of the annual event and b) encourage folk involved in the event to think about their carbon footprint. We think we’re the first comedy festival in the world to start doing this and want others to join us. The more people that get involved the better. We’re working closely with Leicester’s Environment Partnership Board and want more people to get involved. The Partnership Board Chair, Councillor Sarah Russell, has said “Greening the Laughs is a fantastic and innovative way of helping tackle Climate Change whilst enjoying great comedy. I hope it goes from strength to strength”. Come and find out more about the programme which includes Comedy in the Dark, The Green Room Award and The Comedy Wood. A big thank you to our partners: The National Forest, Leicester City Council and Complete Wasters. A special thank you to Neville and Debbie.
