This work, a partnership led by Melvin Benn from Festival Republic with the Environmental Change Institute, Oxford University and Surrey University took place over 14 festivals last summer. JB gathered an incredibly rich set of data which enabled them to identify key trends and attitudes towards travel across the large festival sector and, on this basis, have produced some recommendations which we all hope will result in significant changes – manifest by reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. This work is complex; travel is a life-style choice which the music industry, on its own, cannot tackle. Therefore the recommendations focus on building joint partnerships, and on informing choices for festival goers. The full report is peppered with case studies, and appendices which provide a snapshot of services across the country, and other relevant information. You can access both the full report and the Executive Summary of Jam Packed Part 1: Audience Travel Emissions to Festivals 2008 at  www.juliesbicycle.com/researchFor the full report you will be asked to register online first - but there is no cost.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
