POWERED 100% by Renewable energy
AWARDED:
BEST FESTIVAL at The Oldie Travel Awards & THE OUTSTANDING GREENER FESTIVAL AWARD
(also: shortlisted for Best Toilets at the Festival Awards and working to Industry Green standard)
WOOD is one of Britain’s greenest events, powered completely on renewable energy, harnessing the power of the sun, the wind and even the people who attend the event (through a cycle-powered cinema and disco), there are composting toilets (no portaloos!) and a stage made of, you guessed it, WOOD.
As ever there is a strong and diverse line-up of (mainly) acoustic acts on 2 stages, including:
American troubadour WILLY MASON, who starred at last year’s OX4 festival, British folk legend ELIZA CARTHY BAND, and not forgetting Candyskin and Wood institution NICK COPE performing for young and old alike!
WOOD is also about learning with opportunities for everyone to participate in workshops covering singing, woodcraft, yoga, knitting, story-telling, and thatching amongst many other subjects; there are campfire sing-alongs, the now famous fancy dress parade, and a fantastic kids tent. You can even join in our lively lunchtime discussions and talks on living a more sustainable lifestyle the other 363 days of the year…
WOOD has its own organic café serving delicious locally-sourced food and its own pub, THE HIPPY ARMS selling locally-produced lager, ale and cider.
WEEKEND TICKETS: £95 for adults– including camping and all workshops - available from the website www.thisistruck.com and local outlets.
A Young Person’s ticket (ages 13-17) is £65, and as before Children 12 & under are FREE (if booked in advance). All under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
