REPORTS TO: CEO
TERM: Full-Time, Permanent (Interim will be considered)
START DATE: January 2024
SALARY: £35-40K - DOE
LOCATION: Remote, requirement to travel, including monthly London team meetings.
JOB OVERVIEW:
A rare opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and highly capable person to join a pioneering sustainable events company in a senior role. The ideal candidate will have a passion to nurture a happy team with a common purpose for protecting and enhancing our environment and protecting people globally through the power of events, music, culture and sport. The role is full time, working remotely, with potential to be office-based in future; timings can be flexible. The General Manager ensures strategic goals are met by setting operational policies, creating and maintaining budgets, and managing employees. Responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the company and being the central hub, to ensure smooth running of the company, its systems and processes. Self-management, organisation and effective time management are essential. Ability to manage a team as central coordinator of all staff and projects, identifying business development opportunities, nurturing client relationships, maintaining budgets, expenses and invoicing, and reporting performance to the CEO. We are looking for someone who is passionate about sustainability and the events industry looking for a long-term commitment, taking an active and participatory role in the direction and development of the company. Occasional travel and evening / weekend work will be required.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
General Company Management
● Prepare and review procedural documents, adjusting daily operations to better meet company goals
● Manage overall company diary. Coordinate meetings, timelines and project deadlines (Project Management)
● Host and minute weekly team meetings.
● First point of contact for all enquiries for response or distribution to the team.
● Management of company facilities & insurance
● Oversee IT support for website and email security and management
● Oversee company digital platforms and email marketing communications.
● Assisting preparation and delivery of annual GEI conference (next 27.02.24)
● Meet and provide quotes to prospective clients with CEO, Directors and HODs
● Maintain file and document management systems and ensure most effective and efficient use of software and digital assets.
● Identify opportunities for improved efficiencies, and for business development.
● Maintain mailing lists from all AGF comms channels and membership platform into Mailchimp.
Finance
● Understanding project & company budgets, supporting budget holders, and providing basic monthly reports to CEO.
● Day-to-day bookkeeping maintaining folders of bills and invoices for external bookkeepers. Raising invoices and approving expenses for Xero where required with support of CEO, Directors and Senior Management.
● Managing assessor expenses and making payments in collaboration with external Book-Keepers.
● Maintaining Xero Accounting system with external Book Keepers and Accountants.
● Assisting the CEO and Directors when required with financial tasks.
Personnel & HR
● Maintain policies, procedures and staff personnel records in line with GDPR ● Administer recruitment and communication processes to international AGF team and network of assessors, issuing personnel contracts and NDAs
● Host weekly team meetings and project scheduling / resource meetings. ● Arrange for annual staff reviews with the CEO.

● Manage and monitor holiday calendars for all staff, management and Directors.
● Oversee the induction of all new assessors by AGF Certification Coordinator and manage training records.
● Identify staffing requirements and make suggestions and report to the CEO in relation to skill and resource needs.
● Support recruitment processes, JDs, shortlisting, interview, selection. Manage and develop intern placements as required.
Knowledge & skills required:
● Experience in a similar management role
● Comfortable working remotely with the ability to manage own workload and multiple priorities calmly, effectively and without supervision
● Competent using Microsoft Office programs, Video Conferencing & Google Drive ● Excellent project management skills and experience.
● A thorough and meticulous approach to work
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● An imaginative and ambitious approach, with the willingness to be flexible
Desirable:
● Previous General Manager role in the live music, events, sports or sustainability sectors
● An understanding and awareness of working in the events, entertainment or touring industry
● Knowledge of accounting software Xero
● Experience using ClickUp project management software.
● Experience using Squarespace, Mailchimp & Surveymonkey and basic social media marketing.
● Event management experience
