CARS, CARBON & FESTIVALS
Research from the globally renowned Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research has identified the greenhouse gas emissions impact of major UK music festivals, and the lack of action on the part of both festival promoters and licensing local authorities to tackle the growing problem.
Audience travel is widely acknowledged as a major contributor of emissions in relation to festivals. The Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research has published research to better understand festival car travel and to inform festival stakeholders of the potential carbon saving of reducing audience car usage.
