A Busy Season Of Training At AGF!

This season has been an exciting journey for A Greener Future as we’ve been travelling the world (and online!) to share our passion for sustainability.
Our Director,
Dr. Teresa Moore, was at the heart of it all, delivering impactful training sessions that brought together people from diverse industries, cultures and regions. From crafting sustainability strategies in Manchester to leading community-focused workshops in Mexico and connecting with participants in London, Dr. Moore brought valuable insights and energy to every session.

Starting in Manchester:
We kicked things off on October 7th with a brand-new course, “Creating a Sustainability Policy and Strategy for Your Organisation.” Hosted by Major Events International, this hands-on session helped organizations, local authorities, and teams tackle questions like: Where do you start? How do you set goals? We loved seeing participants leave with confidence and practical strategies to make real change!

Going Online:
That same day, we launched our Autumn Online Assessor Training, bringing AGF’s expertise to people worldwide. Over two weeks, participants got the tools to assess and improve sustainability at events- from the comfort of their own homes!

Off to Mexico:
Later in October, our Director, Teresa Moore, led three-day training in Mexico with Festival Internacional Cervantino. This wasn’t just about festivals - it was about community! We worked with suppliers, hotels, local authorities, and even police, focusing on how everyone plays a role in making events sustainable. It was a joy to see so much collaboration and enthusiasm.

In London:
On November 14–15, we hosted our much-loved in-person Assessor Training in London Hosted by Major Events International. Participants dove into real-world case studies and left with Stage 1 Certification as AGF Assessors. It’s always wonderful to meet people face-to-face and share practical, impactful knowledge.

In Bristol:

Last week, Dr. Teresa Moore was in Bristol working with the City Council’s events team to help them organise more sustainable festivals. It was a great chance to talk with the team about practical ways to make events greener.

Upcoming Training:

We’re not stopping here! In 2025, we’ll be offering our Spring Online Assessor Training in February, followed by the Decarbonising Live Events training in Dublin in March, in partnership with Safer Events Global.

What Participants Said:

“I'm constantly learning and this time I chose to learn something that can make a change for the future and hopefully bring a positive impact for the events I'm working.
Proudly finished Stage 1 A Greener Future Assessor Training. Looking forward to making events more sustainable and helping them in their sustainability journey!”

- Alexandra Dragomir (Public policy expert | Freelance event manager)

“Really happy that I rekindled my joy for learning at the AGF Assessor Training session. Not only were there so many valuable insights from the course, but also tips and learnings from others in the group. It really cemented my view on how events are leading the way in sustainability best practices and how MPs and the Government could learn so much from the sector. Dr. Teresa Moore is such a great teacher and I'd highly recommend her course.”

- Nikki McNeill (CEO Global Publicity | Event & Festival specialist)
