Knowledge is power. Make sure you’re clued up on the new voting rules in place for the local elections 2nd May. You must bring valid ID to the voting booth. If you don’t, you will be turned away. Don’t let that happen.

If you don’t have the right ID you can apply for a voter authority certificate. It’s really easy to do but you have to sort it by 5pm Wednesday 24th April. Here’s how:
